A week of activities and fun for primary and high school-aged kids in out-of-home-care, or kids in vulnerable situations.

8th-12th January, 2024 | 9am-3pm each day | Held at St Marks UNE Church, 73 Trevenna Rd, UNE.

  • We want to give kids something fun to do in the January school holidays. 

  • We want to give carers/parents/guardians a bit of a break during the holidays. 

  • We want to help build connections, support, and community.

This is a FREE program, run by An Extended Family of St Marks Church, UNE. 

FREE COFFEE CART:

For the adults we'd love you to stick around for a free coffee and morning tea, and a chance to chat and connect with others. 

COMMUNITY DAY - FRIDAY 12th 

Workshop: Friday 12th 9:30am - 11am

For carers, family members, friends, and workers.

Come and enjoy a delicious morning tea and hear from professionals and those with lived experience, and participate in a workshop about what kids really need, focusing on connection, movement, and nutrition.

Followed by: BBQ and Fair for everyone. Friday 12th, 11am- 12:30pm.

Activities:

During the morning sessions, the children will be spilt into age groups (K-1, 2-3, 4-6, high school) for age-appropriate activities. 

The afternoon sessions will be by interest and the children will have the opportunity to choose activities that interest them. 

Activities include: Art therapy, therapeutic drumming, swimming, sports, craft, and games.

Daily routine:

9am: Sign in, casual activities for kids to join in with. Coffee cart and morning tea for adults.

9:30am: Gather together and welcome. 

10:00am: Morning tea.

10:30am: Morning activities in age groups

12pm: Lunch

12:30pm: Afternoon activities by choice.

2:30pm: Afternoon tea and pack up.

3pm: Pick up.

Leaders and volunteers:

All our leaders and volunteers are members of either St Marks UNEchurch. All our leaders have Working With Childrens Checks and have undertaken child protection training. We place the highest priority on keeping children in our care safe and our policies and practices reflect this.
